Information we collect

We collect the information you enter in a 4 pillar funding loan request, details about how you use this website, and limited information from partners such as lenders and identity-verification services.

Information you give us

  • Identity and contact details: name, date of birth, Social Security number, email, phone number and home address.
  • Financial details: income source and amount, pay frequency, employer, housing cost, and bank name, account and routing number.
  • Loan details: the amount you request, the loan purpose and your answers to form questions.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email, phone or mail.

Information collected automatically

When you visit, we and our service providers collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, approximate location based on IP address, and the date and time of your visit.

Information from others

Lenders, identity and fraud-prevention services, and consumer reporting agencies may share results with us, such as whether a request matched a lender or whether identity details could be confirmed.

02

How we use your information

We use your information to process your loan request, share it with lenders that may make you an offer, run and improve this website, prevent fraud, and meet our legal obligations.

Specific uses include matching your request with lenders that serve your state and loan amount, contacting you about your request, answering your questions, measuring which pages and features are useful, detecting suspicious or duplicate submissions, and sending marketing messages where the law allows and you have not opted out. We do not use your information to make lending decisions, because lenders make those decisions.

03

How we share your information

We share the information in your request with lenders and lending partners in our network so they can decide whether to make you an offer, and with service providers that help us operate this website.

  • Lenders and lending networks: receive your request details and may contact you directly. Once a lender receives your information, its own privacy policy governs how it uses that information.
  • The lead platform behind the request form: the request form is provided by a third-party lead platform that collects your answers, routes them to lenders and keeps its own records under its own privacy policy.
  • Service providers: hosting, analytics, email and phone, customer support and fraud-prevention vendors that act on our instructions.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users and others.
  • Business transfers: if this website is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under the same protections.

Lenders and partners that receive your request compensate us, which is explained in our advertiser disclosure.

04

Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website and its partners use cookies, pixels and similar tools to keep the request form working, remember your choices, measure traffic, and understand which ads or pages brought you here.

Essential cookies keep forms and security features running. Analytics cookies tell us how pages are used in aggregate. Advertising cookies and pixels may record that you visited so partners can measure ad results or show related ads on other sites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features, including the request form, may not work properly without them. Some browsers send a Global Privacy Control signal, which we treat as a request to opt out of sharing for targeted advertising where state law requires it.

05

Your privacy choices

You can opt out of marketing emails, texts and calls from us, adjust cookies in your browser, and ask us to access, correct or delete the information we hold about you.

  • Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
  • Text messages: reply STOP to any marketing text.
  • Phone calls: ask the caller to place you on our do-not-call list, or email us.
  • Lender contact: contact each lender directly to opt out of its messages, because we cannot control a lender's own marketing.

Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages about a request you submitted.

06

State privacy rights

Residents of California and several other states may have rights to know, access, correct, delete and port their personal information, and to opt out of its sale, sharing for targeted advertising, or certain profiling.

Depending on your state, you may be able to request the categories and specific pieces of information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the types of recipients. Sharing your request with lenders in exchange for compensation may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under some state laws, and you may opt out of future sharing by contacting us. Information covered by federal financial privacy laws may be exempt from some state rules. We will not discriminate against you for using your rights. You or an authorized agent can submit a request by email; we will confirm your identity before responding, and if we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.

07

How we protect your information

We protect your information with encrypted connections, access controls and service providers that follow industry security practices, although no website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

The request form uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to personal information is limited to people and vendors who need it for the purposes above. We will never ask for your online banking password or a one-time security code. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.

08

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed to process requests, answer questions, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and meet legal and record-keeping requirements, and then delete or de-identify it.

How long that takes depends on the type of information and the law that applies. Request records are typically kept longer than website analytics data because they may be needed for compliance and fraud checks. Lenders that received your information keep it under their own retention policies.

09

Children, policy changes and how to contact us

Our website is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in their state, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

If you believe a child has submitted information through this website, contact us and we will delete it. We may update this privacy policy when our practices or the law change, and the revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we will provide notice as required by law. Send privacy questions or requests to [email protected], or use the other options on our contact page. Please also review our terms of use, which govern your use of this website.
